Game Board Directions

Use a pencil to trace guide lines onto the gold fabric paper dividing the paper into
9 equal squares. With a zigzag bladed rotary cutter or pinking shears, cut 8 strips
of red fabric paper wide. Center 4 of the strips over the pencil lines on the
gold paper and machine stitch in place. You can stitch in the center of each strip
or along both sides of each strip. This is the front piece of the game board.

Cut a 2 strip off one end of two sheets of green fabric paper. Using temporary
spray adhesive, glue the green paper pieces to each other, (short piece to short
piece, larger piece to larger piece) wrong sides together. Topstitch the edges of
both pieces to secure along the sides you cut.

On the wrong side of the gold paper arrange the 2 backed pieces of green paper
so that the topstitched cut edges meet each other and the outside edges align.
The lined green paper pieces become the back of the game board and the
pocket to hold the game pieces. (Use a light coat of temporary spray adhesive to
hold the top and bottom pieces of the game board together while sewing.) Turn
the game board right side up and place the remaining 4 strips of red paper along
the edges so that one side of each strip extends slightly over the edge of the
board. Miter the ends of the strips by trimming a small triangle off both ends to
allow each strip to meet flush with the next at the corners. Use temporary spray
adhesive to hold the strips in place before stitching them down. Be sure to stitch
through all layers of the board.

Snowman Game Piece Color Chart
1. First Snowman Outline (white)
2. Eyes & Mouth (black)
3. Nose (orange)
4. Second Snowman Outline (white)

Hoop one piece of white fabric paper.* Stitch the first 3 stitch sequences.**
Remove the hoop from the machine but do not remove the fabric paper from the
hoop, turn over. Cut another piece of white fabric paper big enough to cover all
the stitching in the First Snowman Outline. Spray the wrong side of this paper
with temporary spray adhesive and place over the First Snowman Outline
stitching on the back of the hoop, being sure to cover all the stitching. Put the
hoop back in the machine and stitch the final stitch sequence #4, Second
Snowman Outline. Remove the fabric paper from the hoop and cut out the
Snowman game piece. Leave a 1/8 selvage around the stitching line. Make
four Snowman game pieces.

Wreath TicTacToe Game Piece Color Chart
1. First Wreath Outline (green)
2. Berries (red)
3. Bow (gold)
4. Second Wreath Outline (green)

Hoop one piece of green fabric paper.* Stitch the first 3 stitch sequences.**
Remove the hoop from the machine but do not remove the fabric paper from the
hoop, turn over. Cut another piece of green fabric paper big enough to cover all
the stitching in the First Wreath Outline. Spray the wrong side of this paper with
temporary spray adhesive and place over the First Wreath Outline stitching on
the back of the hoop, being sure to cover all the stitching. Put the hoop back in
the machine and stitch the final stitch sequence #4, Second Wreath Outline.
Remove the fabric paper from the hoop and cut out the Wreath game piece
around the outside edge and also remove the middle. Leave a 1/8 selvage
around the stitching line. Make four Wreath game pieces.

*These directions call for two pieces of green or white fabric paper to make the
game pieces. You can make four game pieces using only one sheet of fabric
paper by hooping a piece of tear-a-way stabilizer, stitching the first outline
stitching, placing a small square of fabric paper over that stitching (covering all
the stitching) and repeating the first outline stitching. Proceed with the rest of the
directions as written above.

**For best results, place a small piece of tear-a-way stabilizer under the face
portion of the Snowman and the Bow portion of the Wreath to support the satin
stitches.

Enjoy your game!
